Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Wendat Village Public School.
It is a privilege to serve as principal of a school community that is caring, diverse, vibrant and deeply committed to the success and well-being of every student.
At Wendat Village, we believe that a strong school is much like a strong village. It is built through relationships, shared responsibility and the contributions of many. Every student, staff member and family has an important role to play in creating a community where people feel known, valued and connected.
We hold high expectations for learning and are committed to providing students with meaningful, responsive and engaging learning experiences. Our continued focus on literacy, mathematics and effective instructional practices reflects our belief that every student is capable of growth and success.
At the same time, we know that achievement and well-being are closely connected. Students learn best when they feel safe, included and confident that they belong. We therefore place a strong emphasis on community building, student voice, mental health and well-being, inclusion, identity-affirming learning and positive relationships.

These expectations extend beyond the classroom. Through athletics, clubs, the arts, STEM, leadership opportunities, cultural learning, community events and service to others, students are encouraged to discover their strengths and contribute to the life of the school.
We are especially proud of the diversity of our community. The cultures, languages, identities, traditions and experiences represented at Wendat Village enrich our learning and help students develop greater understanding of themselves and others.
Families are essential partners in this work. We value open communication and welcome the many ways parents and caregivers contribute to school life through School Council, volunteering, family events, conversations with educators and ongoing support for their children.
I look forward to another year of learning, leadership, celebration and community, and to working together to make 2026–2027 a meaningful and successful year for every Wendat Hawk.
